Ohio runs one of the oldest continuous archery state bodies in the United States. The Ohio Archery Association (OAA), founded in 1889, has been the NFAA state chapter since the NFAA formed in 1939. The OAA runs seven statewide tournaments every year, four indoor and three outdoor, which is one of the busiest competitive calendars of any state body in the country. USA Archery activity in Ohio runs through clubs and the Ohio Target Archers (OTA), which acts as the state-level USA Archery affiliate. Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Toledo, and Akron hold the densest club scenes. Head into Southeast Ohio, the Hocking Hills, and the rural counties and you find clubs cut into hardwood forest with field and 3D courses that run April through October. Bowhunting is a defining part of the culture statewide. Use the city list below to find the right club for your discipline and location.
